Alan Shearer and Jonathan Woodgate have agreed that "passionate" Thomas Tuchel has done an incredible job at Chelsea. Especially amid the uncertainty that has come with the sanctions currently affecting the club.
The Blues have now made it six wins in a row since Roman Abramovich made his first play to try and hand over the stewardship and care of the club to the Foundations trustees. A move that ultimately failed with the UK government and the EU subsequently sanctioning the Chelsea owner.
Despite all the drama that has unfolded off the pitch, the team itself have seemed to stick together and maintain a strong mentality, and this is a credit to Tuchel who has steered the ship perfectly well through this rocky period. The German has already received praise from a lot of the media and pundits alike, and Shearer and Woodgate are now the latest to jump on that bandwagon.

Woodgate said: "He’s done an incredible job, the way he's answered every single question. He's passionate about it, it seems like he loves the club and I’m sure a lot of teams will be looking at his situation and following it." Shearer then followed up with: "He's handled an impossible situation really well. He’s sent the right message out to the fans, the right message out to his players, he’s told it how it has been. It must’ve been uncomfortable at times to do that and I think he’s been a real class act."
Tuchel, who had admitted that he is taking things 'day by day' currently, reflected on his situation and feelings once again after this latest win at the Riverside that was gifted his way by Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech. "I am absolutely ok. I still feel very privileged and even as a turnaround, I feel a responsibility because there are people who are worried who are not in the spotlight or as privileged as me.
"My players and staff are privileged but we are concerned. There are 700/800 people working at Chelsea and are worrying more, maybe existentially worried about what will happen and asking if they can stay at the club and what will happen at the club.
"For them, it's also my responsibility and everyone's responsibility to show the right spirit, positivity, and not go into self-pity and worry about a situation we didn't cause and can't change. So it is still a pleasure and I am very gifted to go to training and do what we do in an environment that is so supportive. That is my feeling about it."
