AHMEDABAD: The third wave of Covid is not kind to all - senior citizens with comorbidities are vulnerable to the severe form of complications that require ICU treatment, often with ventilatory support, said city-based experts.
The number of patients requiring ICU admission or ventilatory support in private hospitals in Ahmedabad nearly doubled in two days from 23 on January 19 to 42 on January 21. At Civil Hospital and Sola Civil Hospital, such patients as of Saturday evening were 23 and 4, said officials.
