The Cincinnati Bengals just experienced their first major hit to coaching consistency of the Zac Taylor era by losing offensive coordinator Brian Callahan to the Tennessee Titans.
But they might not be alone in this regard in the AFC North.
The Baltimore Ravens, fresh off losing in the AFC title game to the Kansas City Chiefs, could be losing standout defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald to another team.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Seattle Seahawks plan to interview Macdonald for their head coach vacancy — and were willing to wait if the Ravens advanced to the Super Bowl.
And according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Washington Commanders will have a sitdown with Macdonald about their opening, too.
Since ascending to the coordinator spot in 2022, Macdonald has authored elite defenses, including the one that just helped the Ravens reach a title game and limited the Chiefs to 17 points, albeit in a loss, so his departure could be problematic for the Ravens.
