Adrian Chiles "recoiled in horror" after discovering his impersonator's graphic OnlyFans content.
He found the impersonator thanks to an article with the dramatic headline: "I make a GRAND A DAY cos they think I'm ADRIAN CHILES.'
The 55-year-old presenter told how the lookalike has been earning £1,000 per day from his strange and x-rated pictures on the adult subscription-based website.
According to the publication, the impersonator even earned cash from eating crumpets naked.
The Leeds-based doppelganger, whose fans call themselves 'Chillies', was a social care worker and has found an income with the online content.
Even Adrian thought that the person 'looked a bit like' him as he discussed the shocking discovery.
Writing in The Guardian, he explained: "The pictures featured an all but naked man with his bits obscured. He looked a little like me. Gingerly, I expanded the image so I could read the text.
"As soon as I’d got the gist of the story, recoiling in horror, I pinched the page smaller again so I could read no more. I’d seen as much as I could stand for a moment."
Adrian added: "The bare bones of it are as follows: a bloke in Leeds who looks a bit like me is earning money on the internet as my naked lookalike."
He went on to explain how he stopped reading as 'it gets worse'.
The OnlyFans content creator, called Mike, claimed someone paid him £500 to read out Adrian's columns while performing a sex act.
Meanwhile, the real Adrian has been busy with his own projects.
At the beginning of the year, he appeared on The One Show to promote his book called The Good Drinker: How I Learned to Love Drinking Less.
However, fans joked that the presenter seemed to want his job back as he used to present on the show between 2007 and 2010.
Viewers picked up on the fact that he started interviewing guest Naomi Ackie and took over from the two hosts - Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas.
One viewer posted: "Adrian Chiles fishing for his old job back here?? #TheOneShow."
Another fan tweet: "Nice to see Adrian Chiles interviewing Naomi Ackie, despite being a guest haha. He was one of the original presenters @BBCTheOneShow #TheOneShow"
"Adrian Chiles looks like he's just been woken up after sleeping behind #TheOneShow couch for over 12 years," one fan added.
