Adorable Video Roberto Clemente’s Grandson Cheering on Pirates Is What Baseball’s All About

Any Pirates fan would probably agree that Roberto Clemente is the greatest and most impactful player in franchise history. The Hall of Fame outfielder spent his entire 18-year career in Pittsburgh, making 12 All-Star games and winning an MVP award, among a long list of accomplishments throughout his career.

While Clemente died in 1972, his presence in Pittsburgh remains, which includes Clemente’s family. On Friday, Roberto Clemente Jr. posted a video on Twitter of his son, Roberto Clemente III, cheering on the Pirates in their home opener, and the child’s joy watching Pittsburgh beat the White Sox 13–9 is palpable.

MLB celebrates Clemente every season with Roberto Clemente Day on September 15 every season. However, the best way to honor Clemente is for his grandson to get as invested in Pirates baseball as he showed off in this video.

Pittsburgh is off to a great start, sitting at 5–2 on the year which includes a four-game winning streak this season. If they can keep it up, and finally put together a winning season, they can give Clemente III his first positive memories as a Pirates fan.
