Rangers have reportedly had a bid for Charleroi’s Algerian midfielder Adem Zorgane rejected due to an “insufficient” offer for the 22-year-old with French side Toulouse also said to have been short in their quest to land the player.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has stepped up his summer recruitment drive with four new faces arriving at the club’s pre-season training camp in Portugal. And now it has been claimed that the Ibrox side are interested in Zorgane - capped once for the Algerian national side - with France Football journalist Nabil Djellit claiming Gers had an offer turned down.
He initially reported Celtic had the bid rejected before correcting himself and saying it was Rangers who had in fact joined Ligue 1 side Toulouse in trying to sign Zorgane but he wrote: “Offers deemed insufficient. The midfielder has extended until 2027.' Zorgane moved to Charleroi from Algerian side Paradou last year and scored three times in the Belgian top flight and, with Ryan Jack entering the final year of his deal at Ibrox, van Bronckhorst could be looking at long term midfield options. Wolves and Nottingham Forest have also been linked.
