Adding a third drug to the standard Keytruda and Lenvima combination did not help patients with advanced kidney cancer live longer or keep their cancer in check longer at a planned interim analysis of a large Phase 3 trial. Researchers will present the full results on October 25 at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress in Madrid.
The LITESPARK-012 trial randomly assigned 1,688 previously untreated patients with advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma to one of three regimens. More patients on the triple-drug combinations stopped treatment, according to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
