Adam Scott hoping to get back in PGA winners' circle

It's been a while since Adam Scott rubbed shoulders in the PGA winners' circle, so unsurprisingly one of his immediate goals is to get back there when he tees it up in the Zozo Championship.

The winner of 31 professional tournaments, the one-time world No.1 has found victories as hard to come by as finding an oasis in a desert in recent times.

The last time Scott prevailed was at the 2020 Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Golf Course where he beat Matt Kuchar, Sung Kang and Scott Brown by two strokes.

But Scott believes he has the game to turn his fortunes around when he hits his opening drive at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club on Thursday.

"I've got lots of different goals, but really ... I want to get back in the winner's circle on Tour. I feel like I still have the game to compete on Tour and be a winner.

"I'd like to kind of start here this week, but let's keep that going in '24, too."

Scott has enjoyed four top-10 finishes since May and is looking forward to playing before capacity crowds in Japan where he is a regular visitor.

"All the good memories I have is the big crowds that watch us play," he said. "That was certainly the case in 2019, there was no extra space at this golf course. Hopefully we get something similar to that this week."

Joining Scott on Thursday will be compatriots Cam Davis, Min Woo Lee and Aaron Baddeley.

Davis has been a model of consistency on Tour this year, with four top-10 placings since July.

He earned his biggest pay cheque in August - $A918,000 - at the St Jude Championship where he finished sixth, while also taking home $A910,000 for his third-placed effort at the Fortinet Championship in September.

Lee enters the tournament in cracking form after securing a wire-to-wire, record-breaking victory at the Macau Open.

Currently ranked 47th in the world, the brother of women's major winner Minjee Lee is considered one of the emerging stars of world golf.
