Adam Mongtomery is set to join Kilmarnock on loan after Celtic approved the switch to Rugby Park.
19-year-old Montgomery is highly-rated at Parkhead and made 18 appearances in the first half of this season.
But with Ange Postecoglou reinforcing his squad in January, minutes are going to be hard to come by and Montgomery had various loan options on the table in the English Championship and League One.
However Celtic would prefer him to stay in Scotland and Postecoglou wants to see him get a run of first-team football before returning in the summer.
Winger Montgomery deputised at left-back at the start of the season and is tipped to have a big future at Celtic.
It is a major boost for Derek McInnes as it will bolster Killie ’s promotion push to get back to the Premiership.
McInnes has already been busy signing Dylan Tait on-loan from Hibs, Kyle Lafferty and now Montgomery.
Meanwhile another Celtic youngster in Brody Paterson has joined Airdrie on loan.
The left-back spent time with Queen's Park last season and now signs up to help the Diamonds in their League One promotion push.
