Any potential Celtic permanent transfer swoop for Adam Idah has been thrown into jeopardy after Norwich sacked their manager.
David Wagner was relieved of his duties at Carrow Road after the play-off defeat to Leeds.
Norwich were beaten by Leeds in the semi-final of the Premier League play-off meaning they will remain in the Championship next season.
But club chiefs have decided to remove Wagner and assistant Christoph Buhler from their posts.
Idah - who was loaned to Celtic in January - has been linked with interest in making a £6m permanent move to Glasgow in the summer.
However, any move would likely be in jeopardy with Norwich recruiting a new manager.
The state of play as it stands is unclear but it would be no surprise for the new manager to want to take a look at Idah before any move is sanctioned.
No concrete interest in a move from Celtic has been detailed as of yet, however, Idah appears keen to remain in Glasgow as he admitted he is "over the moon" at the club.
A Norwich City statement read: "Norwich City have parted company with head coach David Wagner.
"Assistant head coach Christoph Bühler will also leave the club.
"All at Norwich City would like to place on record our thanks to both David and Christoph for their hard work and contributions to the club. We wish them well in their future careers.
"The club will now progress with its plans of appointing a new head coach."
Sporting director Ben Knapper said: “David has operated with class and dignity throughout his period as Norwich City head coach, but we now feel that the time is right for us to move in a different direction.
“We remain committed to progressing our football club, in both the short and long-term, working through a diligent and thorough strategy.
“The appointment of a new head coach is an important one. We will now work and continue our due diligence with the view of making an appointment in the near future.”
