Authorities in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, have lifted a shelter-in-place order following a tragic incident involving an active shooter armed with an 'AR-15-style assault rifle.' The suspect, identified as Andre Gordon, 26, is currently barricaded inside a residence in Trenton, New Jersey, after allegedly killing at least three people and fleeing across state lines.
The suspect is believed to have shot and killed his 52-year-old stepmother and 13-year-old sister in a Falls Township home. Additionally, he is accused of fatally shooting 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, the mother of their two children, at another location. Fortunately, some individuals present at the scenes were able to hide or survive the attacks.
Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, ATF, NJSP, Mercer County Rapid Response Team, and Mercer County Homicide Task Force, are currently on scene in Trenton, where Gordon is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous. The residents of the house where Gordon is barricaded have been safely evacuated with no injuries reported.
Chief of Police Nelson Whitney of the Falls Township Police Department mentioned that there had been minor prior contact with Gordon, but nothing to suggest the violent events that unfolded. The suspect is described as approximately 6-foot-1 with a thin build, last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and believed to be in possession of a rifle and possibly other weapons.
Gordon is believed to be homeless with ties to the Trenton area. The stolen vehicle he allegedly drove, a 2016 dark gray Honda CRV with Pennsylvania license plate KFR 1534 and a 'Namaste' sticker on the rear bumper, was found unoccupied in Trenton. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information related to the suspect.
This tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning for the lives lost. Law enforcement agencies are working diligently to ensure the safety of residents and bring the suspect to justice. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones affected by this senseless violence.
