Accidentally freed prisoner locked up for biting police officers

A convicted sex offender who was at the centre of a national manhunt after being accidentally set free from prison has been sentenced to 26 weeks in jail for punching and biting two police officers.

Brahim Kaddour-Cherif, a 24-year-old Algerian asylum seeker, made national headlines last November when it emerged he had been mistakenly set free from HMP Wandsworth.
