Australian entertainment powerhouse and advocate Abbie Chatfield has clapped back at trolls for comparing her to accused rapist and sex trafficker Andrew Tate.
Tate was arrested in the US with his brother, Tristan Tate, earlier this month, when British prosecutors declared they are seeking the extradition of the brothers from the US on rape and sex trafficking charges — from a now total of seven alleged victims.
The comparison couldn’t be more ridiculous, and yet, Chatfield’s social media posts last night say that’s exactly what’s happened.
In a video of her podcast, It’s a lot with Abbie Chatfield, the influencer explains the bizarre accusations.
“People are saying that I’m like Andrew Tate, and that I deserve what he gets, like saying that I should be arrested.
“Me calling out oppression and being angry about oppression, xenophobia, racism, homophobia, attacks on women and femicide, that is the same as being accused of rape, child rape, sexual abuse material, trafficking, and assault.
“That’s apparently equal, right? ‘I’m the same as Andrew Tate’.”

Abbie Chatfield hits back at comparisons to Andrew Tate
Referring to her viral clip about Andrew Tate’s arrest outfit, Chatfield adds that people are saying she deserves to get “threats of violence, being told that I should kill myself, getting harassed on the street… people making entire accounts to troll me, AI sexualised images of me made”.
“It’s so disproportionate that simultaneously I’m not allowed to say that his outfit is ugly, which objectively it was… they’re saying that me calling his outfit ugly equates to what I go through in terms of literal threats on my life,” she said.
Explaining that trolls tell her Tate gets hate, too, Chatfield concludes, “He’s charged with a few things that I’ve never been charged with.”
In the caption of the clip, she says:
“It’s a curious case because they seem to be ok with supporting a self-proclaimed misogynist, but MAKING FUN OF HIS CAPRIS IS A STEP TOO FAR!”
“I’ve had threats, comments saying I should be arrested, men calling me “childish” and saying things like ‘you cry about people being mean to you, but you’re doing it now!’”
Chatfield further dismantles those accusations with three points:
“One, calling myself and other prominent feminists the ‘female version’ of Tate, as though our tactics, goals and motivations are the same, and as though calling for further oppression is the same as calling for freedom from oppression.
“Two, saying that making fun of someone’s outfit is JUST AS BAD as the hate I receive!! They say ‘you cry about people being mean and look at you doing the same thing!’
“I’m completely fine with people making fun of my outfits!! What I’m not so fine with is the threats, the doxxing, the verbal abuse on the streets, the daily requests that I off myself or the wishful thinking that Adam commits a ‘m*rder s*ic*de’. 🙂
“Three, the idea that I should be punished for MAKING FUN OF A MANS OUTFIT to the same extent that he is being treated right now… after being charged with multiple serious crimes.”
Who are Andrew and Tristan Tate?
It’s important to understand just who the brothers are, to fully grasp how ridiculous Chatfield’s comparison to them is.
The Tate brothers are professional kickboxers turned massive social media influencers, preaching to vulnerable-minded men about luxury lifestyles and unmitigated misogyny.
Andrew Tate has amassed over 10 million followers on X – although he’s been banned from YouTube, TikTok and Instagram for violating hate speech guidelines.
He’s notorious for his extreme toxic masculinity, including comments that women who are sexually assaulted should bear some responsibility for their attacks, and explicit descriptions/suggestions of how he might attack women.
The brothers are worshipped as much as they are suspected rapists and internationally accused sex traffickers.
