Once home to military families, the abandoned Howard Commons site gradually deteriorated, its vacant buildings and neglected grounds becoming an eyesore along Pinebrook Road. Now, the long-neglected property is set for a dramatic transformation, with developers betting that new homes, shops and a nearby Netflix production campus could help usher in a new chapter for the region.
