Abandoned mental health centre where mattresses lie on the floor in secure rooms

Southport

Mattress on the floor and secure rooms left untouched at an abandoned mental health centre have been seen for the first time.

The Hesketh Centre on Albert Road, Southport closed its doors for the last time in 2020.

The closure came due to the new £20 million Hartley Hospital opening on Scarisbrick New Road, just a minutes drive from the Hesketh Centre.
