Aaron Taylor-Johnson has entered the running to replace Daniel Craig as the new James Bond.
Amid a slew of notable contenders like Irdis Elba, James Norton and Tom Hardy - the 32 year old is a favourite for the role in the longstanding franchise after taking part in a screen test.
A source has reportedly said that film bosses "loved" Aaron and is now a "frontrunner" for the part. Johnson performed for producer Barbara Broccoli at Pinewood Studios back in September, the Mirror reports.
While Johnson is not as well known as his contemporaries who are rumoured to be taking on the role, he still boasts a ream of impressive credits.
Past work includes the Kick-Ass films, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Godzilla and most recently appearing alongside Brad Pitt in Bullet Train, released this year.
Speaking to the Sun, an insider revealed : “Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him. He is now one of the frontrunners.”
The film’s producers have also reportedly said that they are looking for a younger Bond, someone in their 30s, like Aaron, which would knock the current favourites out of the running.
Aaron’s career debut came in the TV series Armadillo back in 2001, before going on to star in other shows such as The Bill and Casualty.
He starred in the 2009 film, Nowhere Boy, a biopic about John Lennon and went on to marry the film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, 55.
The High Wycombe born actor has recently been filming action movie The Fall Guy, and was pictured on set in Sydney last week.
Encased in a pair of tight leather trousers, Aaron flaunted his eight-pack abs while preparing to shoot a scene on a yacht alongside Ryan Gosling. In order to get pumped up for the scenes, Aaron did a series of pushups.
The Fall Guy is an adaption of the TV series with the same name, which first came out in 1981 and ended in 1986 and is centred on a stuntman who led a double life. Ryan Gosling is starring in the lead role of the stuntman, as Aaron plays the movie star he doubles.
The film is a reunion for Aaron and director David Leitch, as the actor starred in the former’s last film, Bullet Train.
