Rangers flop Aaron Ramsey has been bombed out of the Juventus squad ahead of their US tour leaving the playmaker facing another career set back.
The Welshman spent the second half of last season on loan at Ibrox and was initially seen as a major transfer coup for Gio van Bronckhorst. But things quickly turned sour for Ramsey as he struggled to make a serious impact due to niggling injury issues. His last act as a Rangers player was his costly missed penalty in the Europa League Final before returning to Turin to decide his future with the Old Lady.
The 31-year-old is facing a tough call over is future as he looks to build up his fitness ahead of the World Cup in Qatar, but is being forced out of the door at Juventus with the club looking to offload his bumper wage packet. Ramsey has a year left of his deal and Juve could be forced to pay out £3.5 million to get the midfielder off their books.
It was widely report in Italy that the club were willing to meet the demands of the player and allow Ramsey to become a free agent. However, he remains stuck in Serie A as the first-team prepares to get out for pre-season training in America.
Max Allegri has left Ramsey back in Italy as he prepares for games against Club Deportivo Guadalajara in Las Vegas on July 22, Barcelona in Dallas on July 26 and Real Madrid in Los Angeles on July 30. Teammates Arthur and Adrien Rabiot have also been left behind amid speculation they could be leaving Turin.
It's a bodyblow for Ramsey's preparation for the new campaign as he looks forward to Wales' return to the World Cup. Former club Cardiff City appear to be leading the race to sign the midfielder if he can rip up his contract.
