A9 closed in both directions after crash as drivers urged to avoid area

UPDATE: The road has now been reopened.  THE A9 has been closed in both directions following a crash.

Police said it took place at the junction of the A9 with the B9168 Dornoch and was reported to the force around 3.15pm on Friday.

Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene.

In a statement on Twitter/X, Police Scotland Highlands and Islands advised drivers to avoid the area where possible.

It said: “The A9 at its junction with the B9168 Dornoch is closed in both directions following a crash which was reported to police around 3.15pm.

“Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible.”
