A77 delays possible as roadworks set to begin on major Ayrshire route

Drivers in Ayrshire are being advised over possible delays to their journey on a section of the A77 later this month.

A £90,000 essential maintenance scheme to improve the condition of the road where Coral Glen joins Kirkoswald Road, Maybole, will start on Wednesday, April 13.

As a result, a four-way traffic light system will be in operation on Kirkoswald Road, from 8am to 6pm.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday, April 15.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, say the works will benefit more than 11,000 vehicles using this route each day, improve the condition of various structures on the road and increase overall public safety.

A spokesperson for Amey added: “We thank road users for their patience while this essential maintenance is underway.”

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
