One person is dead, and about 15 people remain missing or unaccounted for after a flash flood tore through the inner corridor of Grand Canyon National Park on Saturday afternoon. The same water destroyed nearly every footbridge over Bright Angel Creek and knocked out the single pipeline that supplies drinking water to the park.
The National Park Service said Sunday night that the body of a 46-year-old man was recovered near Crystal Rapids along the Colorado River. Officials from an Arizona coroner's office responded to the scene. The man has not been publicly identified, and no further circumstances have been released.
