A truck driver is facing a massive $34,824 fine after federal agents at the Texas border uncovered a cargo of 39 live pythons hidden inside his vehicle. This isn’t just a small-time bust; it’s a significant penalty for an export violation that definitely had US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in shock.
According to BroBible, the whole situation unfolded earlier this month at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas. Officers from the CBP Office of Field Operations were on duty when they encountered a 2021 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. As part of their routine, the driver, the truck, and its trailer were all selected for a thorough inspection. When asked about any prohibited goods, the driver gave a negative declaration, basically saying there was nothing to worry about.
