Older adults who took a daily multivitamin for three years reported meaningfully better day-to-day functioning than those who took a placebo, according to a new analysis of one of the largest supplement trials ever run.
The finding has not been peer reviewed. It was presented on July 27 as a conference abstract at NUTRITION 2026, the annual meeting of the American Society for Nutrition, and it is a secondary analysis rather than the trial's main question. Both of those facts belong at the top, because supplement findings tend to travel much further than their evidence supports.
