A spicy combo: McDonald's to collaborate with Frank's Red Hot Sauce for hottest burger ever

Spice fans could have a hot new favourite in takeaways soon, as McDonald's gets ready to unveil its fiercest burger yet just in time for Valentine's Day.

The company has agreed to its first ever UK food collaboration and it is not going to be one for the faint-hearted.

Heat lovers were overjoyed when the fast food chain brought in the McSpicy – a hot crispy chicken burger – and now it is bringing in a version that will come with the famous Frank's Red Hot Sauce.

McDonald's is calling the new creation its ‘spiciest and tastiest’ burger to date, and it will cost £5.59. It said: "The brand new McSpicy x Frank’s RedHot features a hot and spicy 100% chicken breast fillet in a crispy coating, Jalapeños, lettuce, Emmental cheese, and onions, with a unique Frank’s RedHot Mayo – all served in a sesame seed bun."

The new burger will be ready to order soon, and in time to spice up your Valentine's Day. All McDonald's restaurants in the UK and Ireland will be selling the burger from February 7, which is also available as part of a meal for £7.29.

Spice lovers will have to be quick to get their hands on the hot goodness though. The McSpicy x Frank's RedHot will only be available for six weeks while stocks last.

McDonald's warned: "Once it is gone, it is gone" but is giving 500 superfans access to an exclusive teaser mailer.

Thomas O’Neil, head of menu at McDonald’s UK and Ireland, said: "We know how much our customers love spice, and were blown away by the reaction to the McSpicy since it first launched as a limited-edition back in July 2021, growing to a permanent resident on our main menu.

"This collaboration with Frank’s RedHot gave us such an exciting opportunity to build on an already iconic product and create something genuinely spicy but also delicious that we know both McDonald’s and Frank’s RedHot customers will love. We’re really looking forward to seeing the reaction."
