A Queens comedy club owner says a neighbor kept erasing her chalk signs and posting about her, then a detective told her ‘That’s not anti-Semitism’

A business owner in New York City says a neighbor has been targeting her business over its political messaging. Hannah Lieberman, who owns the QED comedy club in Astoria, Queens, took to Instagram to tearfully describe how the man has allegedly been erasing the club’s chalk signs and posting about her online, and how she says police dismissed her complaints.

In her post, Lieberman described her club as “a public meeting space” that hosts charity events, storytelling shows and a free weekly toddler story time. She said she advertises its more than 100 monthly events with sidewalk chalk, and alleged that “all summer long, a man has been erasing my sidewalk chalk.”
