The news of Marcelo Bielsa’s dismissal from Leeds United has prompted quite the response from the wider football world.
The Argentine’s sacking was confirmed on Sunday morning following a dismal run of form that culminated with Saturday’s 4-0 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur, that has left the club 16th in the table and just two points clear of the relegation zone.
Bielsa joined Leeds in 2018, successfully overseeing their promotion back into the Premier League after a 16-year absence and finishing a remarkable ninth in the topflight last season. Many have taken to social media to thank Bielsa for what he has done for the club over his 170 games in charge, including some well-known faces.
