Jonnie Irwin said he was left "horrified and surprised" after his wife tried an unusual holistic treatment on him.
The A Place in the Sun presenter has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Jonnie, 49, chose to keep his illness private until last November, but hopes sharing his diagnosis will encourage others to "make the most of every day".
Jonnie shares three sons with his wife, Jessica Holmes, and he regularly shares updates from his life on Instagram.

Jonnie, who is best known for his role on the Channel 4 programme, posted a photo on Wednesday after Jessica persuaded him to let her try Hopi candles in his ears. The treatment is said to remove earwax.
In the snap, Jonnie could be seen lying horizontally with the lit candle in his hear. He said: "Wasn’t sure about letting my wife stick Hopi ear candles in my lug holes but surprised/horrified with the results. I’ll spare you the ‘after’ photos!"
Fans were quick to comment. Pete said: "I tried them and literally nothing happened, except having to sit like you are for 20 minutes. I think my wife just wanted me to sit still."
Diane said: "I do mine.. Its amazing how much comes out ain't it lol", while Emma said: "I'm so tempted to give these a go".
Lyn said: "You can't beat a Hopi candle!!" and Pamela asked: "Can you hear better now?"
