A Place in the Sun host 'in bad books' as buyers slam Spanish home moments into viewing

A Place in the Sun buyers slammed a home moments after walking through the door.

Ben Hillman was helping Penny and Jon find their perfect property abroad on Tuesday's edition of the popular Channel 4 programme. The married couple were searching for their dream home on the Costa Almeria in Spain.

They were armed with a maximum budget of £105,000 and were looking for a two bedroom apartment with views and outdoor space. The host branded the search a "rollercoaster" as he struggled to find a property that impressed the buyers.

Ben was convinced he had found a home suitable for the buyers with property four on the search. The two-bed apartment in Mojacar Playa was priced at £102,586 and was a short drive away from the beach.

However, Penny and Jon had made their minds up on the home within seconds of walking through the front door. Jon said: "I'm not feeling it at all. It's soulless. I want to come on holiday and feel like I can come to a second home."

Jon said Ben was "back in the bad books" as he issued his damning verdict on the property. The expert saved the day with the final home, which was a two bed apartment in Valle del Este.

Penny and Jon were blown away by the property and decided to put in a £105,000 offer. However, the property was owned by the bank and the buyers were still awaiting a response to see if they had secured the home at the end of the programme.
