A couple featuring on Thursday's (Jan 26) episode of Channel 4's A Place In The Sun caused quite a stir among viewers watching the show at home for their 'time-wasting' antics. During the show, partners Jeanette and Phil were on the hunt for a new home on the Greek island of Crete, with the help of host Jean Johansson.
The pair's budget was £170,000, with the move to the popular European destination appearing to be a risk right from the start as they admitted they had never actually been to the island before. However, they hoped to find a new pad out there after hearing it was a 'good place to start a new, relaxed life'.
As the episode progressed, Jeanette and Phil's demands began increasing, which didn't go unnoticed by fans. One demand mentioned by the couple was how they wanted their potential new property to be big enough to house friends and family when they come to visit, as reported by the Mirror.

Commenting on the demand, one viewer called Stewie tweeted: "I don't get this thing of everyone's family coming over at the same time? **** that." Lynn seemingly agreed, adding: "They want a fr***in palace for all their family."
By the end of the show, Jeanette and Phil were shown a total of five homes they could move into. They then decided to make a 'cheeky' offer, which ended up backfiring on them and as the episode came to a close, the couple were left with nothing.
Frustrated by this, another viewer, Tubbs, wrote: "So, they could buy it for £15k under the asking price, but still refused. Complete time wasters." Host Jean Johansson didn't escape the firing line either as fans shared their discontent at her pronunciation of the island. One viewer raging: "CRETAN! Not Cretian."
Despite the criticism of their search, the property hunters revealed the reasoning behind their offer to A Place In The Sun What Happened Next?, saying it needed too much work doing to it to be worth the asking price.
Jeanette admitted: "We knew we had booked to come out again a month later so we could re-assess the property, and look at others." The pair did fly out again after the show and discovered a property much better suited to their needs.
