A Place in the Sun buyers suddenly shut down search as 'death trap' spotted

A Place in the Sun buyers brought a viewing to an early end on today's episode.

Sara Damergi returned to front Thursday's edition of the popular Channel 4 programme. The expert showed Steve and Michelle around five homes in Haute Vienne in Southern France.

The engaged couple were armed with a maximum budget of £125,000 and were searching for a traditional holiday home with enough space for their six children and dog, Poppy. The hunt got off to a smooth start as Steve and Michelle fell in love with their first home.

The search went from strength-to-strength as Sara continued to select contenders. This culminated in the fourth property of the search, which was a four-bed house in Saint-Sulpice-les-Feuilles.

The two were both blown away by the house and considered it their dream potential home. Sara had one final roll of the dice to change their mind and took the couple to a massive property in Chirac.

However, Steve was immediately unimpressed as he admitted: "No it's not doing it for me."

The kitchen boasted an mezzanine with a bedroom in the kitchen that Michelle said would be perfect for the kids. However, guests would need to access the room via a ladder, which alarmed viewers following the show on Twitter.

Viewers were concerned about the access to the mezzanine (Channel 4)

Hydrogen Hill said: "A step ladder to get up and down to the mezzanine bedroom, that aint going to end well."

@mostlystupid posted: "Jesus Christ - that mezzanine is a death trap."

Michelle tweeted: "Is that a bed up top?!"

The property comprised of two separate homes, but the buyers brought an early end to the search. Michelle said: "Coming from the last property, I just don't think anything is going to match that."

The fourth property was priced at £127,025 and they eventually secured the home for just over £121,500.
