A Place in the Sun buyers completely change search after brutal shutdown

A Place in the Sun buyers completey changed their search after they issued a brutal shutdown.

Danni Menzies returned to front Tuesday's edition of the popular Channel 4 programme. The expert was helping Martyn and Sharon find their dream home in Portugal on today's show.

The couple were armed with a maximum budget of £180,000 and were looking for a spacious two bed property on the Algarve. However, the search proved to be tricky as Martyn and Sharon were particularly unimpressed with the second property on the latest programme.

The two bed apartment was situated in Albufeira and was split across two floors. The property was priced at £145,872, but Martyn was "not convinced" by the exterior.

Danni assured the buyers the building was getting a facelift next year and they proceeded to view the interior. However, they were similarly unimpressed by the inside and cut the search short before they viewed the full property.

Martyn brutally ended the search as he said: "It's not the wow factor, it's the ow factor." Danni admitted she was shocked with how the viewing panned out.

She said: "That really did not go well. I'm a little bit shocked by Martyn and Sharon's reaction to this place. But if they don't like it, they don't like it."

Martyn and Sharon were prompted to move the goalposts on their search during the episode as they upped the budget by £50,000 to be able to view homes in a more expensive region on the Algarve. Martyn later explained: "We viewed different areas with you but we found out our heart lies in the Villamoura Quarteira region."

The buyers were impressed by the third and fifth home on the search but walked away without making an offer as they wanted to reassess their options.
