A new era

The Sound of Thailand Music Awards 2026 (SOT Music Awards 2026), Thailand's first nationwide music awards programme created by music professionals for the music industry, has officially announced its nominees ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for June 24.

Organised by the Thai Entertainment Content Trade Association with support from the Department of Cultural Promotion under the Ministry of Culture, the awards aim to elevate Thailand's music industry by establishing a transparent, credible and industry-driven recognition platform.

Designed to reflect the collective voice of the music community, the awards feature a rigorous voting system that brings together voters from across the industry, including artists, songwriters, producers, music label executives, academics and members of the media. The initiative seeks to encourage artistic excellence, support the development of high-quality musical work and strengthen professional standards across Thailand's music ecosystem.

By fostering participation from every sector of the industry, SOT Music Awards aspires to become a benchmark for recognising outstanding achievements in Thai music while contributing to the continued growth and wider recognition of the country's music industry.

The nominees across all 16 award categories were officially unveiled at a recent press conference held at Lido Connect Hall 3 in Bangkok.

The event was attended by the founding committee behind the awards, including Pongnarin Ulice of Cat Radio, Vip Buraphadeja of Happening, Anan Luepradit of The People, and Sukrit Sukskulwat, president of the Thai Entertainment Content Trade Association, who have collectively spearheaded the development of the Sound of Thailand Music Awards, now officially known as the SOT Music Awards.

The event drew strong participation from executives and representatives of many of Thailand's leading music companies, including LOVEiS Entertainment, Muzik Move, Rats Records, Smallroom, Sony Music Thailand, SpicyDisc, Tero Music, Universal Music Thailand, What The Duck and YUPP!.

A diverse group of artists also attended the announcement, including Coconut Sunday, Compass., Door Plant, Fuzz, Jetset'er, JING Suppanat, Juicy Tomatoes, Kryptonte, Lamoon, Panpan Yeeyee, Playground, Sound Sleep, The Publish, The Young Wolf, WALLRY, Thiraphat Sajakul and La-Ong-Fong, alongside numerous musicians, industry professionals and stakeholders from across Thailand's music community.

Their presence reflected broad industry support behind the SOT Music Awards and underscored the growing momentum for a national music awards platform driven by the industry itself.

Among those attending the announcement were nominated artists Max Jenmana, murrph., Pami, Tobii and Tofu, who joined other music industry representatives and fellow artists at the unveiling of the 2026 nominees.

In addition to the awards ceremony, SOT Music Awards 2026 also presents a week-long programme of activities under SOT Music Awards Week, taking place from now until Tuesday. The initiative aims to bring together artists, music professionals, record labels, industry stakeholders and music fans through a series of showcases, networking opportunities and public exhibitions as follows:

SOT Sot Sot (SOT Music Showcase)

A live music showcase featuring Thai artists from a wide range of genres will be held across four venues -- Mr. FOX Live House, Volume Livehouse, Lido Connect, and Folk Phra Nakhon -- from now until Monday, offering audiences an opportunity to experience live performances in an intimate setting.

B2B & Networking

Taking place on Monday and Tuesday, this industry-focused programme will bring together songwriters, artists, record labels, music festival organisers, and representatives from both Thailand and overseas. The event aims to foster business connections, encourage new collaborations, facilitate knowledge-sharing, and provide insights into global music industry trends.

SOT Music Awards Installation

A public exhibition showcasing the concept and identity of the SOT Music Awards through creative installations will be presented from today until Monday at the plaza in front of Lido Connect, before moving to One Bangkok Forum on Wednesday.

The inaugural SOT Music Awards 2026 will take place on Wednesday at One Bangkok Forum, celebrating outstanding achievements across Thailand's music industry and recognising the artists and professionals whose work continues to shape the country's musical landscape.
