A look back at 00s fashion in Edinburgh and all the trends you're bound to remember

Everybody loves a good throwback, but sometimes looking at our fashion faux-paus from the past is nothing but a cringe-fest.

When it comes to the 00s, there are many style choices that we all made that are regrettable. We’ve raked through the archives to prove that here in Edinburgh, we definitely made some mistakes - but it wasn’t all bad.

Low rise jeans, tiny scarves and berets a-plenty - it’s hard to count the quantity of bizarre trends. With Spice Girls blasting through the radio (Spotify hadn’t been invented yet), we grabbed our tiny baguette bags and flip phones to head out for a night on the town.

In Edinburgh, the MTV Europe Music Awards came to Edinburgh for the first time in 2003 - hosted in a tent at Western Harbour - a high point in fashion for Newhaven. The city’s clubs were at a high point, with venues like Revolution and Electric Circus filled to the brim.

You might’ve thought you managed to sneak through the 00s without any photographic evidence of your style choices - but we’ve put together some snaps from the streets and nightclubs, and you might spot yourself.
