The Seattle Seahawks have a short week to prepare for Thursday’s preseason matchup against the Chicago Bears. Following Tuesday’s practice, coach Pete Carroll provided a number of player injury updates ahead of the contest.
Running back Ken Walker: “Ken has a little hernia thing that he’s working on, and we have to get through that,” Carroll said. “I don’t know what to tell you yet, but it’s something that we can attend to. We just have to make sure that he’s okay by the opener, that’s what we are shooting for.”
Wide receiver Dee Eskridge: “He’s really close, he’s doing more every day,” Carroll told reporters. “He was really out there in practice some today. He took some walkthrough reps. He had an MRI that really supported that he’s almost back. I don’t know what that means, but I need to see him run full speed and the trainers not worry about it. He’s not quite there yet, but again, this week, he’s not going to play in this game.”
Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin: “He’s doing well, I talked with Marquise today, and he’s doing well and feeling good about it,” Carroll explained.” Again, we’re looking for the opener, see if we can get him ready for it.”
Carroll also said that tackle Jake Curhan is dealing with back spasms.
In positive injury news, running back Rashaad Penny, linebacker Jordyn Brooks, cornerback Sidney Jones IV and wide receiver Freddie Swain all returned to the practice field.
