The annual Edinburgh Christmas market is back, sprawling across the city centre including Princes Street, George Street and St Andrew’s Square.
Already attracting thousands of people, its many temptations include the Ferris wheel, ice skating rink and the German market full of sausages, beer and much more.
The Christmas Market like many major events in the city have faced scrutiny in recent times but what do the attendees really think?

Christmas market goer and television researcher, 52-year-old, Andy Wilson said: “I quite enjoy it” adding that he would happily wait 30 minutes to enter “for the atmosphere, yes but I would expect it to be slightly bigger if I had to wait for a while.”
Andy went onto talk about the prices of the food at the Edinburgh Market and said: “I think some of the food is a bit overpriced.”
The Edinburgh market has obviously made an impression on Andy, as he said that “Birmingham is down one street, New Street, down one street like Princes Street and all it was beer, sausage, beer, sausage, beer, sausage.”
“The stores here are far superior” and “far superior for families.”
Cliff and Paula Edwards, who are both retired, shared their opinions on the Edinburgh Christmas markets and clarified that they would definitely wait 30 minutes to enter the market.
“If you want something to eat there are stalls, you can have a look around at the stalls that are rather different, they aren’t all the same and repetitive,” they said.
“I think they are a little bit overpriced” and Cliff went onto say “it's Edinburgh prices, we are in Edinburgh, aren’t we?”
“We’ve been on the wheel, we’ve had a meal today, we’ve bought some Christmas decorations, yes its good.”
Another Edinburgh Christmas market goer, 33-year-old, Geoff Pollock said “I think the market here is quite good actually.
“There are loads of different things to eat and there is drinks, you’ve got all of the Christmas things you’d expect, even some different things like the grilled salmon.”
Geoff went to remark on the prices of the Christmas market and said “it’s quite good” as he is used to London prices.
Although as Geoff was with his partner and children he said “not with a family” if he had to wait 30 minutes to enter the market as he wouldn’t be able to get his children to wait in the queue for that long.
