Former Tottenham manager Rehanne Skinner has spoken for the first time since it was announced she had been relieved of her duties earlier this week.
The club released a statement confirming her departure on Monday following the team's 2-1 loss away at Liverpool on Sunday. It was Tottenham's ninth successive WSL defeat and they hadn't won a league match since the 8-0 thumping of Brighton back in October.
Assistant manager Vicky Jepson has taken interim charge and will lead the team for their crucial meeting with bottom-of-the-table Leicester City on Wednesday evening. Skinner released a statement on social media, reflecting on her time with the club and her belief in the team.

"Monday was a sad and difficult day for me," she wrote. "Leaving a Club that I had put my heart and soul into professionalising both on and off the pitch since taking over the team in 2020.
"The game is a rollercoaster and we have had some important achievements; avoiding relegation in the first season to then achieving fifth place, the clubs highest ever finish in my second season alongside a Conti Cup semi-final.
"There are so many memories along the way that I am grateful for. Unfortunately this season for a number of reasons we have not been able to get the results we had hoped for which has been disappointing for us all despite our best efforts to change that.
"I believe in the team and have every confidence that they can do what they need to get results in the remaining games this season to showcase what they are about. I thank all of them for their desire to make the team better, their commitment and support during our time evolving the Club."
After highlighting her achievements since 2020, which include a new training facility, a change of home ground and increasing the number of staff and integration into the wider club, she thanked the fans for their support over the years.
Skinner continued: "For the fans who have been growing in numbers game on game, investing time and energy into supporting the team. I will be forever grateful for your support which was the absolute best I have experienced in any game when we hosted United at the Hotspur Stadium in February.
"You were unbelievable that day, creating a memorable atmosphere, something I will never forget. Please keep supporting the team as the club continues to grow on this journey to the top.
"Following such long periods away from my family and friends who have supported me through everything, I look forward to getting some of that time back now but my commitment and passion for the women's game will never go away so I look forward to the next opportunity to help to grow the game in whatever way I can when the time is right."
Spurs are in WSL action on Wednesday as they host Leicester City at Brisbane Road. Kick-off is at 7pm and the game can be streamed live on the FA Player.
