It was neigh bother for a Dalbeattie charity shop on Saturday as it celebrated 12 months on High Street.
A parade of horses clip-clopped through the town to mark the first year of the 3Rs Nearly New outlet in the town.
The mounts from the 3Rs’ horse rescue centre at Kirkclaugh, near Gatehouse, were led by a horse and carriage with passengers in period costume.
The four-footed cavalcade started from Biggars Mill Business Park on Port Road at 12pm before making its way along the street to the shop.
Horses and riders visited Alma McFadyen House and Munches Park House care homes, as well as Colliston Park.
Centre manager Gordon Chisholm told the News: “I had Maggie the big Shire horse in the parade.
“It was a good day – the wee shop did a tombola and raised another £146.
“The Dalbeattie shop has helped fund the care of the horses at the centre.
“We are looking after 85 in total just now – and we are totally reliant on funding through the charity.
“We would like to thank everyone for their continued support.”
The 3Rs also has charity shops in Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright.
