A British star has accused Aussie influencer Tammy Hembrow of copying her wedding in an Instagram Story that has since been deleted. It looks like it’s a case of ~should’ve been on close friends~ that went out for the world to see.
So what exactly did Tammy do? Well, she had an eight-foot-tall tiered wedding cake, which looked suspiciously like Betsy-Blue English’s cake. The white cakes had similar decor, with white bows piped on each layer. Tammy’s cake was made by an Aussie cake designer, Marina Machado, so it’s unlikely Betsy-Blue’s cake was made by the same baker.
TBH, I reckon it’s a bit of a reach, especially if the only similarity between their two weddings was… the cake.
“I wish people would get their own imagination sometimes,” Betsy-Blue wrote on her Instagram Story, along with a snap of Tammy cutting her wedding cake.
Betsy-Blue later shared another cryptic photo on her Instagram, hinting that she was never supposed to make her original shady comment public. “When you spend the entire day thinking something was on your close friends,” she admitted.
Seeing as Tammy has over 17 million followers on Instagram, this was never gonna go down well. After a snap of Betsy-Blue’s original Instagram Story was shared on Facebook, people slammed her for being a “Mean Girl”.
“God she acts like she’s the only one that’s ever had a large cake and used a chair to cut it,” one person wrote.
“Does she mean the tiered cake that has been around for centuries or the chair? What was she meant to stand on? Her husband?” another asked.

“It’s just a cake. Can’t tell me there isn’t another person who’s copied this too hahahah. Lord knows if I could afford a cake taller than me, sis is doing it!” a third commented.
Tammy tied the knot with her now husband Matt Zukowski last weekend at the super swish Chateau Du Soleil in NSW’s Byron Bay. Her wedding has since been featured in Vogue Australia, and I can see why. The whole thing was just sooooo dreamy!
And while she *may* or may not have copied her wedding cake idea from Betsy-Blue, she wasn’t afraid to wear a wedding dress off the rack. The Vera Wang Haute rack, that is. But my point is — she was fine to reuse a dress for her wedding, so maybe there’s a possibility cake-gate is real after all!

Still, the Vera Wang blush silk ball gown didn’t come cheap. The style has been worn before by other celebs, including former Miss World Australia Tess Alexander. Sources told Daily Mail this particular dress cost $12,800 and was handmade overseas in New York.
Tammy travelled from the Gold Coast to the Vera Wang store in Sydney multiple times for dress fittings prior to her wedding, with other dresses in this particular collection starting at a cool $10,000. At the other end of the scale, you can nab a pricey Vera Wang dress for $47,000, but it’s not available in their Sydney store.
Guess all we can do now is wait for Betsy-Blue to spill more tea or for Tammy to address the rumours. Either way, I’m dying for more info!
