A pre-teen boy arrived at a children's emergency department with a rash across his abdomen and what looked like spontaneous bruising. It had been there for a week, and neither he nor his parents could think of a trigger. Doctors initially suspected a liver injury following minor trauma.
His blood tests and abdominal scans came back normal, and he was sent home. Two weeks later, he was back. The rash had spread, become more tender, and started to peel. Only then did the real cause surface: his laptop.
