If you're anything like me and totally addicted to TikTok, you might've seen the triangle powder puff baking trick all over the app.
For those who aren't aware of the product, the triangle powder puff promises to set and brighten your under eyebag area without any creasing. Over the past few years, I've really suffered with quite dark eyebags, so I really wanted to find something to get rid of them - and fast.
Don't get me wrong, I love my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, but by the time I've set it with my powder, it wrinkles and creases like mad. I'll be honest, I was really dubious when I saw hundreds of videos of influencers praising the powder puff, because I wasn't sure if it was just another overhyped product on social media.

I've been getting more and more irritated with my makeup creasing under my eyes, especially during the warm weather, so when I saw the powder puff on LOOKFANTASTIC for £4.79 I thought I'd give it a try. Here's what I found.
On the LOOKFANTASTIC website, the full product description reads: "Create airbrushed skin with ease using the brushworks Triangle Powder Puff Duo. Ideal for loose powder application, the triangular sponges offer long-lasting, flawless-looking results. The smaller sponge can be used to reach the more intricate areas of the face, such as setting powder under the eyes. Featuring a handy pointed tip, the larger sponge is perfect for buffing and visibly smoothing the skin."
I've been using a Collection Loose Powder for a while, but thought I'd treat myself to a fancy Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to ensure the powder puff worked to its full potential. After watching a few tutorials on TikTok on how to apply powder with the product (because I'm a clueless millenial) it was time to use the viral powder puff.
The powder puff
I'm not even exaggerating when I tell you this powder puff is actually magic. After applying it under my eyes, I was absolutely amazed.
I think the design of the powder puff is really clever, because the triangular shape allows you to get into the corners of your eye and make sure your base is totally flawless. I also thought it felt so much softer on the face as opposed to a brush, as I can sometimes find the bristles of a brush a little irritating.
I actually ended up using the larger powder puff under my eye, although it's advised to use the smaller one. The reason I did this was because I also attempted the 'baking' trend - which I'm not sure I've quite mastered yet.
The baking trend basically involes you covering your powder puff in loads of powder, placing it under your eye and letting it sit for a few minutes whilst you continue with the rest of the makeup. Now I'll be honest, I don't think I'm fully there with baking yet, but I think I gave it a pretty good go.
I went from looking like I'd slept for about an hour to looking fully rested, fresh and vibrant. I do think this thanks to a combination of the gorgeous Laura Mercier and the powder puff, and not just the powder puff, though, so I'd reccomend splashing out on a powder you know will work for your skin.
After letting the powder bake for around 5 minutes, I buffed it away with the powder puff and carried on with my makeup. I even went in for a second base of powder and it looked even more flawless.
I wore the powder all day at work and it didn't crack once. The makeup didn't even sink into the fine lines of my forehead which is something I often get self conscious of, so that was amazing.
The only downside to baking is the fact that you have to use a lot of powder for it. Considering my powder cost me over £20, I don't think I'll bake often, but the puff works just as well with a little bit of powder too.
If you want to look energised without the caffeine, this nifty little product is definitely worth a try. You can purchase the £4.79 brushworks Triangle Powder Puff Duo here.
