LUCKNOW: Over 93% of the eligible population in Uttar Pradesh is now fully vaccinated, an assessment of state health and family welfare department data confirms.
According to officials, the total number of persons to be vaccinated in the state across all age groups – starting with 12-year-old children – is 1,69,902,000. Of these, the number of persons to have taken both the doses is 15,86,34,268, which is roughly 93.3% coverage.
In all, 33.77 crore doses – including 34.5 lakh precaution doses – have been administered in Uttar Pradesh, according to data from the CoWin portal.
The full dose coverage across different categories is however more or less than the average. Broadly, the coverage may be divided into the adult (18-plus) population and minor citizens. Data shows a 96% double dose coverage in the adult category.
Coverage in the under-18 category is being monitored in 12-14 years and 15-17 years sub-group. The full dose coverage in the 12 plus age group is 62% while that in the 15 plus age group is 86%.
Health officials have urged people whose second dose is due to come forward and take their vaccine in their individual and also social interest.
It also said while other states were witnessing a rise in the number of cases, the situation in UP was way better.
