The NBA All-Star weekend gave the league’s stars a chance to relax before hitting the end stretch of the season, but at least one star still had his competitive juices flowing.
Luka Dončić was on the court shooting around ahead of Saturday night’s festivities, when he saw the 76ers mascot pull off an impressive feat. Franklin, the Sixers’ dog mascot, hit an over-the-head half-court shot in front of fans, players and other mascots.
Dončić then decided to attempt the same exact shot, and somehow, the Mavericks star swished a bucket on his first try, leading to a great reaction by Franklin.
Dončić is one of the most skilled players in the league, and he ranks right near the top of the list of players who can make this kind of wild long-distance shot. The fact he did it in front of fans and on the first attempt makes it all the more impressive.
Playing for Team LeBron in the All-Star Game, Dončić only scored four points in 18 minutes, as Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid were the focal points of the team. However, nothing Dončić would’ve done in the game could match his half-court shot from a day earlier.
