The Commute Is Already a Practice
Pranayama does not require silence or a cushion. Nadi Shodhana, alternate-nostril breathing, can be done seated on the Metro with one hand in your lap, cycling through four counts in and four counts out. Three minutes of this before you reach your stop lowers the cortisol spike that a crowded platform produces better than scrolling does. The technique comes from Hatha Yoga Pradipika and has been in continuous use for centuries for exactly this kind of physiological reset.
