For some, the dream is still alive in fantasy football in 2023. The playoffs are within reach, and you’re still trying to win a title. Maybe you’ve already mortgaged your future if you’re in a dynasty or keeper league.
But if you’re on the other end of that and you can start planning for 2024 and beyond? That’s what this list is for.
Let’s run through some players who could be on your waiver wire and who might have a bright future. And if your league has rules about how free agents are kept on rosters in future years, these guys could have serious value:
1
QB Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts
We didn’t see much of the rookie QB in 2023 before he missed the rest of the season with an injury. But what we did see was impressive. Go ahead and pick him up if he’s available for a next-year stash.
2
RB Zamir White, Las Vegas Raiders
A purely speculative pick. Josh Jacobs is a free agent this offseason, and maybe he moves on to a contender who wants to pay him after a monster season. White could end up as top back in Vegas as a result.
3
RBs Joshua Kelley and Isaiah Spiller, Los Angeles Chargers
If Austin Ekeler doesn’t return? One of them may end up as a bellcow in a very, very good offense.
4
WR Jonathan Mingo, Carolina Panthers
Someone’s go to catch footballs from Bryce Young in Carolina, and it may be this guy a lot more next year, especially if free agent DJ Chark doesn’t return.
5
WR Jalin Hyatt, New York Giants
He’s shown flashes of serious talent in his rookie year, and the hope is the Giants can get a QB to throw better passes his way.
6
TE Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders
The former Notre Dame tight end has shown flashes his rookie season and could break out next year, especially if Davante Adams is on another team.
