Despite the fact that some NBA fans are translating LeBron James’ latest cryptic message — literally, one hourglass emoji on X (formerly Twitter) — as OMG HE WANTS OUT FROM THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS, I don’t think that’s what it means.
For me, it’s something about how time’s ticking on his career, that it’s time to make a trade to help the Lakers, and it’s time for change.
But who knows? Maybe it’s the first of many messages that leads to him wanting out from L.A.? After all, he has a player option for next year, so he may not even stay past this season, and if the Lakers stink, maybe they want to get something back for him instead of losing the superstar for nothing.
