Around 1.5m people were claiming attendance allowances from the DWP as of February 2022.
People are entitled to attendance allowance to help with extra costs if they have a disability severe enough that they need someone to care for them.
Depending on the level of care received, those eligible for the payment may receive different rates. If you have a physical or mental disability, of state pension age or older, you could be eligible for the money.
