On Tuesday, around 50 projectiles breached the border from southern Lebanon into Israeli territory, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF reported that some of the projectiles were intercepted, while others hit the ground.
The incident occurred as sirens blared in Israel's Upper and Western Galilee regions between 10:37 and 10:39 a.m. local time (4:37 and 4:39 a.m. ET).
Tragically, one man lost his life in the attack that took place in the northern city of Ma'alot-Tarshiha, as confirmed by Israel's emergency service. Medical personnel from Magen David Adom (MDA) described the scene as having suffered 'huge destruction.'
The situation remains tense as authorities work to assess the extent of the damage and investigate the source of the projectiles. The IDF is actively monitoring the situation and responding as necessary to ensure the safety and security of Israeli citizens.
