5 things we spotted at Celtic training as Kyogo and Giakoumakis battle it out to catch manager's eye

Celtic are heading to Dingwall this weekend to face Ross County is their first post-split clash.

And Ange Postecoglou's side have been put their paces as the prepare for Sunday's match.

The Hoops are hopeful as they sit six points ahead at the top of the table, with the cinch Premiership title in touching distance.

Despite missing out on the treble this season following a defeat at the hands of their Glasgow rivals Rangers during last week's Scottish Cup semi final.

But the squad have been working as hard at Lennoxtown as they look for some consistency during the final games of this campaign.

There was some positive news from Celtic' s training ground this week as striker Giakoumakis involved after missing out on last weekend's Scottish Cup semi final.

Here are some of the things we spotted at Lennoxtown in the last seven days...

Giak is back

Giakoumakis looks to be on the mend has he got involved in Celtic's training sessions this week.

The Greek hitman had been one of Ange's top players but after doubling Celtic's lead against St Johnstone earlier this month, he was forced to leave the pitch less than half an hour in.

It was later revealed that the star suffered with some hamstring problems, meaning he was forced to miss Celtic semi final clash at Hampden last weekend.

But things are looking up for the striker as we was spotted getting involved in training at Lennoxtown yesterday.

Foul ref

Celtic stopper Tobi Oluwayemi was snapped taking a bit of a tumble.

The young goalie appeared to have been taken out by a giant dummy during a session at Lennoxtown this week.

The keeper, who signed for the Hoops back in 2019 from Tottenham's academy, is currently number 71 for the Hoops and features for the reserve team squad.

Not sure which way to go, Callum?

We are not too sure what instructions Callum McGregor is giving his team mates in this picture.

It looks awful like the Celtic skipper can't quite make up his mind on which direction he wants to go in the snap taken during his side's training session at Lennoxtown this week.

McGregor worked hard with this fellow Hoops players as they look towards tomorrows trip to Dingwall.

The midfielder is still sporting his protective mask which he has worn on his face since suffering a serious injury against Alloa back in January.

Kyogo picks up the pace

Kyogo Furuhashi was spotted grafting away during Celtic's training sessions at Lennoxtown this week.

The Japanese star recently returned to fitness and is being slowly reintroduced by Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou.

The player will be desperate to get back in amongst Celtic's goalscoring after his flying start before falling victim to injury at the turn of the year.

The forward also took part in a Celtic Twitter Q&A earlier this week where he revealed the reason behind his celebration 'the mushroom'.

He revealed the movement comes from an inside joke in the Hoops dressing room as his teammates often poke fun at his haircut.

But will he start on Sunday or will it be Giakoumakis who forces his way back in?

Ange is all smiles

The Celtic boss looked pretty chuffed as he watched his side during training at Lennoxtown earlier this week.

His men are set to face Ross County on Sunday in their first game following the cinch Premiership split.

Celtic currently enjoy a six point cushion at the top of the table with five games left to play this campaign.

So it is no wonder the gaffer is all smiles, with his side in touching distance of the title.
