Like, who is running Squid Game now that Player 001 (the old man) is dead? Who is Player 456 (Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae) talking to in the limousine? How does the carousel game work? Who is the Black Soldier?
Squid Game season two premieres on Netflix on December 26, but there’s no doubt Netflix will be bringing Squid Game to Australia while we wait… like who are these creepy ‘carol singers’ spotted donning the iconic green player tracksuits at Queen Victoria Building over the weekend?!
And did you see the giant game of Red Light Green Light that happened on the Champs-Elysées?! If my intuition serves me correctly, we had better be prepared for more pink soldiers popping up unannounced.

1. If the main character chose red, he would’ve become a Pink Soldier

I always wondered what would’ve happened if Player 456 picked the red card, and this theory answers it — he would’ve become a Pink Soldier. Think about it: to stomach what the poor players are put through, you’d want to get something in return. So why wouldn’t they need money like the players? Everyone has a price.
2. On the other hand, the Pink Soldiers are previous players

Now, this one makes sense. Even if the players win, they’re still financially irresponsible at the end of the day. In the trailer for season two, we see that the masterminds behind Squid Game keep track of the old contestants. Like the piggy bank scene below.
Heck, the masterminds probably want the winner to lose all their money — so they can be indebted to them as soldiers.
3. Player 456 is Player 001’s son

Okay, hear us out on this one. Player 001 said he created the games to find his son. Who ends up winning the games? Player 456, who has no recollection of his dad. Player 001 tells Player 456 that he was spanked a lot. Why does he know that?? They also discuss growing up in the same neighbourhood. He even saves Player 456 by giving him his jacket, since Player 001 knows he won’t get killed without one. (Since he’s the literal mastermind behind the show.)

I love how all the theories contradict each other here, at least you can’t say I’m trying to cover one up. This theory does make sense as now that (spoiler alert) Player 001 is dead, he’ll need someone to take over the family business. That’s why he got his son, the salesman, to hire players and prepare him for what’s to come.

Don’t come at me for this one. Obviously, he’s not innocent since he created a game that kills people. However, he did try to save the players. When they were voting on whether they should stay or go, he put his hand over go. However, after listening to the other players scream at him to vote stay — he complied. Ultimately, this would be everyone but Player 456’s downfall. Unless Squid Game season two brings back characters from the dead.

I’m still not over Ji Yeong sacrificing herself to save Sae-byeok in the marble game. Fans loved her, so it would be smart to capitalise on that and create a sister to enter the games. This girl in the trailer even has the same haircut, which I know seems small, but nothing is an accident in Squid Game. My question is, could she be going undercover?
