5 back strengthening exercises for women

A woman's body is prone to pains and aches. From childbirth to enduring the load of daily chores, a woman's body needs more care after every hard work in order to spring back to life.

Exercises are extremely important to keep the body running. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said in its recent report how physical inactivity has affected the lives of people worldwide, women especially, and has made them prone to life threatening diseases like heart attack.

Here are 5 easy to do exercises, demonstrated by Sweta Parida, a fitness and nutrition coach from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. These exercises will strengthen your back and increase flexibility.

As can be seen this is a spinal cord mobilization exercise, where you need to bend your spine in a flexible manner.

It stretches the neck and the back of the body. It improves mobility of the spine and improves circulation within. It also strengthens the muscles of the hands and wrists.

Superman hold

This is an effective workout that can work wonders on your lower back muscles, glutes, hamstrings, and abs.

With no equipment and few minutes of this exercise you can provide your body the right amount of workout it needs.

It gives you stronger legs and buttocks, it can improve the posture and give the right kind of support to your spinal cord.

Glute bridge

Now this is a bit challenging, but once you start doing it you can see amazing results.

It strengthens the erector spinae, which runs from the neck till the tailbone. It also works on hip abductors, gluteus maximus, and hamstrings.

Stiff legged deadlift

This wholesome exercise works on several muscles like hamstrings, erectors, and gluteus maximus.

It also works on the lats and shoulders.

Dumbbell rowing

In this you are targeting the rib muscles, upper back muscle, shoulder blade, spine, rotator cuff, bicep muscles and triceps.
