49ers LB refused to play vs. Rams

The San Francisco 49ers were without veteran linebacker De’Vondre Campbell on Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams. However, the 49ers lineback was not dealing with an injury.

According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, Campbell refused to come into the game in the third quarter. Shanahan said Campbell didn’t want to play football on Thursday and exited from the sideline to the locker room.

After an impressive season debut in the first half for Dre Greenlaw, the 49ers linebacker was sidelined in the second half. Following the game, Kyle Shanahan revealed that Greenlaw was dealing with soreness and fatigue from his previous Achilles injury. When Campbell was asked to go into the game in place of Greenlaw, he refused.
